Choosing the right electrode

Our large selection of suitable electrodes makes coating easier for you. You will get optimal results and few disturbing factors if you use the recommended electrodes.

We carry stick electrodes for pad electroplating and bath electroplating and also plate electrodes for bath electroplating.

The graphite electrode is a very helpful support for a wide variety of coatings. It does color the pad and the liquid somewhat, but this is not a problem at all for the electrolyte and the plating.

The platinum electrode coats at the highest level like the graphite rod, but scatters the metal much deeper into the layer and builds up very thick layers.

The big advantage with the nickel silver and copper electrode is that you can work with less material and less time when plating.

Platinum Electrode
Platinum electrode from Betzmann-Galvanik:   We know that when plating with gold or silver, you want to achieve only the best results and this is achieved by using our platinum electrode (platinized titanium). This will more than meet your requirements. It hardly wears out and leaves no black spots or stains when plating. For top quality gold plating, we recommend the use of this electrode.   Care should be taken to clean the electrode carefully after each use!     Properties "Platinum Electrode 6 mm Platinum electrode (platinized titanium with a platinum layer of 2.5 µm platinum) Ø 6 mm x 100 mm Standard electrode for experiments in electrochemistry (electroplating, electrolysis, ion migration, determination of electrochemical potentials, etc.) Spare platinum electrode for Hofmann decomposition apparatus, electrolyzer Platinum-coated titanium anodes are among the classic anode materials for electroplating because they combine the excellent electrochemical properties of platinum with the good corrosion properties of titanium. They are characterized by a long service life at high current density and are versatile in use. They are equally suitable for platinum and ruthenium baths, for hard chrome plating, as bright rhodium baths and for cathodic corrosion protection. The standard platinum layer thickness is 2.5 μm.   In order to achieve the best results when plating with gold (adhesive gold bath, bright gold plating bath) or silver, they are indispensable.   This platinum electrode will more than meet your requirements, it hardly wears out and leaves no black spots or stains when plating. For top quality gold plating, I recommend using this electrode.   Other possible applications: Water electrolysis/separation of hydrogen and oxygen, water disinfection, production of chlorates (chlorate synthesis) and perchlorates.   Recommended operating data:   Operating voltage from 3 volts distance anode/workpiece surface 5 cm anodic current intensity (specific current density) max. 75 A/dm² (7.5 mA/mm² = 750 mA/cm²), i.e. a multiple of the values typical in electroplating (0.5 ... 5 A/dm²) pH value: 0 - 11 Bath temperature max. 60 °C

The electroplating pens make it possible to carry out fine and very fine decorative electroplating work on jewelry and other small parts. In this way, jewelry can even be partially gold-plated. With the pen electroplating system it is possible to do a 2-tone precious metal coating even on very small surfaces. Whether in the studio, in the jewelry industry jewelers: the electroplating pens with the fine fiber pen attachments enable multifaceted color shades and sophisticated sophisticated results that will amaze you. The electroplating pens are also ideal for repair and touch-up work.  Electroplating Pens are ideally suited.   Directions for use: The plus cable is plugged in at the end of the grip piece, and a replaceable felt in the front. Please use one felt per electrolyte (they can be used for a very long time). The felts should be thoroughly soaked and moistened before use, as this is the only way they will pass the current.   The integrated graphite electrode is excellent for gold plating, chrome plating, silver plating, palladium plating, copper plating, zinc plating, black ruthenium, black chrome, black rhodium Nickel plating, rose gold, green gold, white gold and more.    Guide you will get when you buy the product.

Edelstahlelektrode: Länge ca. 9,5 cm, Durchmesser 4mm     Stainless Steel Electrode: This electrode is ideal for chrome stripping and electro-cleaning. To swap over to a stainless steel electrode, simply loosen the existing electrode using the allen key which comes free with the wand, and fit in the new one. Stainless steel electrodes should not be used for any other processes such as the metal can cause contamination of the plating solution resulting in considerable wastage of gold metal.  Selecting the best electrode for the job is very important.

Silver Electrode
Pure silver electrode for silver plating from Betzmann Galvanik   Product Features "Silver Electrode 6 mm unalloyed rod anode made of pure silver, produced by electrolytic refining dimensions: Ø 6 mm x 100 mm material sample with defined purity Ag 99,99 / Ag 4N Pad Electroplating: as anode for electroplated silver plating, as electroplated coating silver is widely used to reduce the contact resistance and to improve the solderability of contact parts electrode in electrolysis, element collections, investigation of material properties as silver ionization electrodes for hygienic operation of a humidifier by active disinfection of the water Fine silver 999.9/000 has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals and is also used in research, electrical engineering, medicine, for the production of colloidal silver, for silver pen drawing and occasionally for jewelry making. Material: Silver Purity: 99,99 (4N) Diameter: 6 mm Length: 100 mm     Features Benefits Made from pure silver, it dissolves in the plating solution The silver in the anode replaces the silver from the plating solution, so you can save between 40% and 50% on the cost of solution. It can also save you time as once you’ve dipped your swab in the plating solution, you don’t have to keep dipping it back – the silver from the anode gets plated instead. If you intend to rely on this, we recommend you mix our Thickener with the Silver Plating Solution to make sure the swab doesn’t dry out and electrical contact is maintained.

Graphite plate electrode 50 x 80 mm
Maße: M: 50 x 50
Product description "Graphite plate electrode". Graphite plate electrode for bath electroplating   highly compressed ("isostatically pressed"), wear-resistant fine-grain graphite excellent conductivity and chemical resistance plate thickness 4 mm available in sizes 50 x 80 mm, 100 x 150 mm and 170 x 200 mm for bath electroplating and electrolysis, use: electrolytic cleaning, gold plating, silver plating, chrome plating, degreasing as working or shielding surface for high temperature applications   Graphite electrodes are generally used in plating with chrome, copper, white bronze, rose gold, green gold, black chrome, black ruthenium, black rhodium, activation.   Actually, the graphite electrode is ultimate for all coatings.   The advantage is that in some coatings with stainless steel electrodes, the dislodged metal parts disturb the coating. This does not happen with graphite electrodes, because graphite   also filters out contaminated liquids.  They also need to be replaced occasionally as they slowly dissolve during coating.      Features Used for Doesn’t contaminate Cleaner Activating and electro-cleaning  Its resistive properties help to heat the solution you’re plating with Chromium plating, which needs to be plated at 25 degrees celsius; its natural heating action helps to maintain the solution’s optimal temperature Low cost Can be used for all plating processes but carbon electrodes deteriorate over a period of time and discolour swabs (discolouration does not affect the plating quality)
