Product information "Kobalt Solution"
Kobalt Solution by Betzmann Galvanik
Our cobalt brush plating solution plates up to four times the speed of nickel brush plating solution.
It is very hard (see tech specs) and plates a shade lighter than nickel and darker than chromium.
Kobalt Brush Plating Solution plates a very hard wearing layer that’s a lot harder than nickel and plates at three or four times the speed.
It can be used as a barrier layer, as it slows down the migration of copper into plated gold layers. An alternative barrier layer could be our white bronze or our Palladium Brush, Tank Solution, Nickel Brush or our Nickel Tank Solution.
Cobalt has a slight bluish lustre (although not as pronounced as chromium). Although it is a lot less hypoallergenic than nickel, we do not recommend it for jewellery purposes.
Recommended electrode: Carbon Electrode 4 Volt - Platinum Electrode up to max. 11 Volt.
