Product information "Activator"

Galvano activator and decapping agent in one - stainless steel and nickel activator in one - from Betzmann Galvanik
The GALVANO AKTIVATOR from Betzmann Galvanik removes oxide layers on base metals to enable electroplating or electroless plating.
The electroplating activator is required, for example, for electroless nickel plating of aluminium or to activate stainless steel, nickel, brass and chrome for electroplating.
Discover the versatile application of the activator or decapping agent in electroplating! The activator / decapping agent is an indispensable aid for the decapping and preparation of surfaces before plating in the electroplating industry. It is used to activate surfaces of metals such as steel, copper and copper alloys as well as passive nickel layers.
Decapitation removes impurities from surfaces and simultaneously prepares them for the plating process. This process is crucial to ensure optimum adhesion and durability of the coating. After alkaline pre-treatment, the decapping agent is also perfect for neutralising. It ensures that work with sulphuric or hydrochloric acid is no longer necessary, which not only increases efficiency but also improves work safety.
With Betzmann Galvanik's decapping agent, you can effectively pre-treat the surface of your products to achieve high-quality electroplated coatings. Rely on its proven performance to optimise your electroplating processes and achieve outstanding results.
Field of application: Pre-treatment and cleaner -
General application
The object is either immersed in the activator for 30 to 60 seconds and then briefly rinsed with clear water or coated with the pad for at least 30 seconds from 2.7 volts. The activator removes thin layers of oxide that are invisible to the naked eye. Carry out further coating quickly after the activator bath, as these layers quickly form again with atmospheric oxygen (time period: max. 10 - 30 minutes)
Recommended electrode: Stainless steel electrode or graphite electrode!
 Recommended voltage: from 2.7 volts

Chrome remover - Chrome stripper from Betzmann Galvanik :   Our chrome remover effortlessly removes any layer of chrome, regardless of its thickness, and also cleans the surface. Please note: The chrome remover only works with alternating polarity. Handle minus and crocodile clip PLUS. The chrome dissolves yellow and therefore also serves as a test to determine whether the material is actually chrome-plated. The chrome remover does not attack paints and varnishes.   You can remove any chrome quickly and safely with our chrome remover. But what is chrome removal for? It's simple: chrome-plated components are usually coated with an oxide layer and therefore cannot be electroplated.  therefore cannot be electroplated. During dechroming, the chrome layer is removed and the layer underneath is available for electroplating.  available for electroplating. Carbon Electrode 6mm
Graphite round rod - Graphite rod anode - Graphite electrode for gold plating.  Graphite electrodes are ultimate for all coatings. The advantage is that in some coatings with stainless steel electrodes, the dislodged metal parts disturb the coating. This does not happen with graphite electrodes, because graphite also filters out contaminated liquids. With bath electroplating, they also need to be replaced occasionally as they slowly dissolve during the plating process.   With pad electroplating, simply loosen the screw on the handle and replace with a new one.   Diameter 6 mm, length approx. 9 cm    Features Used for Doesn’t contaminate Cleaner Activating and electro-cleaning  Its resistive properties help to heat the solution you’re plating with Chromium plating, which needs to be plated at 25 degrees celsius; its natural heating action helps to maintain the solution’s optimal temperature Low cost Can be used for all plating processes but carbon electrodes deteriorate over a period of time and discolour swabs (discolouration does not affect the plating quality)

Anode sleeve fuzzy
Anode pad / tampon / anode sleeve / fuzzy sleeve / replacement fabric pad puffy from Betzmann Galvanik.    This puffy fabric pad / anode sleeve or also called tampon is absolutely recommended for all plating processes. Optimally suitable for all coatings and electrolytes.  The coating of larger areas is also quite fast with this pad.   The insertion hole is larger than the electrode and therefore it happens that the moist  anode pad slips off. Therefore, fix the pad on the electrode with a small rubber band.

Stainless Steel Electrode 6mm
Stainless Steel Electrode 6mm:   This electrode is ideal for chrome stripping and electro-cleaning. To swap over to a stainless steel electrode, simply loosen the existing electrode and fit in the new one.  Stainless steel electrodes should not be used for any other processes such as the metal can cause contamination  of the plating solution resulting in considerable wastage of gold metal.    Selecting the best electrode for the job is very important.
