Selber verchromen: mit dem richtigen Zubehör zum perfekten Ergebnis

Baugruppen, Bauteile, einzelne Komponenten, aber auch Alltagsgegenstände werden immer häufiger mit einer Chrombeschichtung versehen. Das Verchromen bringt erhebliche Vorteile, die sich im Alltag zeigen. So wird damit auf das Grundmaterial eine Beschichtung aufgetragen. Diese Beschichtung schützt das Grundmaterial und sorgt dafür, dass Bauteile auch wenn sie extremen Bedingungen ausgesetzt sind, nicht rosten. So wird durch das Verchromen der Korrosionsschutz verbessert. Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten. Zum einen können Sie die gewünschten Teile beschichten lassen, zum anderen können Sie diese aber auch selber verchromen.

Verchromen sorgt für fest haftende Oxidschicht

Wenn Sie mit Hilfsmitteln wie Alu-Elektroden selber verchromen, entsteht auf dem Metall eine Oxidschicht. Diese Oxidschicht haftet sehr fest und ist langlebig. Ein großer Vorteil ist zudem, dass sie absolut undurchlässig ist. Dadurch hält sie auch einer starken Beanspruchung sehr zuverlässig stand. Je nachdem ob das Verchromen in Unternehmen oder Privathaushalten erfolgt, finden unterschiedliche Vorgehensweisen Anwendung. Unternehmen, die selbst verchromen wollen, können auf Chrom(VI)-Säure zurückgreifen. Diese ist aber höchst giftig und ist deswegen für Privathaushalte nicht erhältlich. Hier gilt als Alternative Chromtrioxid.

Was kann ich selber verchromen?

Generell lassen sich die verschiedensten Gegenstände aus Metall selber verchromen. Hierbei kann es sich um Komponenten aus Bronze und Aluminium, aber auch aus Eisen und Edelstahl handeln. Selbst Zinkdruckguss lässt sich mit wenig Aufwand selber verchromen. Damit handelt es sich hierbei um ein spezielles Verfahren, mit dem sich Lampen und Dekoartikel, aber auch Tischbeine edel beschichten lassen.
