Activator
Galvano activator and decapping agent in one - stainless steel and nickel activator in one - from Betzmann GalvanikThe GALVANO AKTIVATOR from Betzmann Galvanik removes oxide layers on base metals to enable electroplating or electroless plating. The electroplating activator is required, for example, for electroless nickel plating of aluminium or to activate stainless steel, nickel, brass and chrome for electroplating.Discover the versatile application of the activator or decapping agent in electroplating! The activator / decapping agent is an indispensable aid for the decapping and preparation of surfaces before plating in the electroplating industry. It is used to activate surfaces of metals such as steel, copper and copper alloys as well as passive nickel layers. Decapitation removes impurities from surfaces and simultaneously prepares them for the plating process. This process is crucial to ensure optimum adhesion and durability of the coating. After alkaline pre-treatment, the decapping agent is also perfect for neutralising. It ensures that work with sulphuric or hydrochloric acid is no longer necessary, which not only increases efficiency but also improves work safety. With Betzmann Galvanik's decapping agent, you can effectively pre-treat the surface of your products to achieve high-quality electroplated coatings. Rely on its proven performance to optimise your electroplating processes and achieve outstanding results.Field of application: Pre-treatment and cleaner - General applicationThe object is either immersed in the activator for 30 to 60 seconds and then briefly rinsed with clear water or coated with the pad for at least 30 seconds from 2.7 volts. The activator removes thin layers of oxide that are invisible to the naked eye. Carry out further coating quickly after the activator bath, as these layers quickly form again with atmospheric oxygen (time period: max. 10 - 30 minutes) Recommended electrode: Stainless steel electrode or graphite electrode!  Recommended voltage: from 2.7 volts Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 Signal word: Warning Pictograms: H319 Causes serious eye irritation Hazard statements P280 Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Chrome Stripper
Chrome remover - Chrome stripper from Betzmann Galvanik :   Our chrome remover effortlessly removes any layer of chrome, regardless of its thickness, and also cleans the surface. Please note: The chrome remover only works with alternating polarity. Handle minus and crocodile clip PLUS. The chrome dissolves yellow and therefore also serves as a test to determine whether the material is actually chrome-plated. The chrome remover does not attack paints and varnishes.   You can remove any chrome quickly and safely with our chrome remover. But what is chrome removal for? It's simple: chrome-plated components are usually coated with an oxide layer and therefore cannot be electroplated.  therefore cannot be electroplated. During dechroming, the chrome layer is removed and the layer underneath is available for electroplating.  available for electroplating. For example, after dechroming, you can coat previously chrome-plated rims or car parts or  all chrome-plated parts yourself. The gloss of the surface is not affected.    You can use the Betzmann electroplating dechromer to Dechrome lettering Dechroming fittings Dechroming rims Dechroming exhaust pipes General chrome removal from chrome-plated components The use of our chrome remover applies to immersion electroplating and pin electroplating / manual electroplating.    Connect the object from which you want to remove the chrome to the positive pole (red) of the power supply unit using a clamp.  Then connect the pin to the negative pole (black). Set a voltage of 6 volts or more and use the pad to pick up the chrome remover.  pick up the chrome remover. Then touch the workpiece with the pad and slowly move the pen around on the chrome surface.  The chrome will turn yellowish.   You can find more detailed instructions on how to carry out the procedure and safety instructions for dechroming in our instructions for use for this product   (see links and downloads).   Operating Parameters   For Brush Stripping   For Tank Stripping Plating Factor –   0.01 – 0.04 A/cm2 Voltage 4 – 6 volts   4 – 6 volts Temperature Room   Room Agitation –   Optional (stirrer) Work piece polarity Positive   Positive Electrode/Anode Carbon (preferred), stainless steel or platinum   Stainless Mesh Electrode (recommended)or Mesh Electrode Processing time 2 microns per minute at 5 volts   1 micron per minute a 5 volts Shelf Life (bottled) Over 5 years   Over 5 years     Labeling according to EC Regulation No. 1272/2008          Signal word: Caution - Corrosive   Precautionary statements: P101 If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.  P102 Keep out of the reach of children.  P260 Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapor/spray. Aluminum Activator
Aluminum Pretreatment - Aluminum Activator  A metallically pure surface is essential for successful electroplating.  Aluminum (Al) is a base metal (with a normal potential of -1.6 V) and forms a dense oxide layer within a short time.  a dense oxide layer within a short time. Reliable plating is impossible on an oxide layer.  In order to coat aluminum nevertheless, an intermediate layer, a so-called "zincate layer" is usually is applied. The material can then be gold-plated, copper-plated or otherwise electroplated.  The aluminum activator works perfectly with pure aluminum, and with many Al alloys as well.  should be tested in advance.     Especially aluminum-silicon alloys do not work at all. Please coat only with alkaline copper! This product contains acid. However, you will receive a detailed guide so that you can work safely. We offer here a solution with reduced viscosity, because this has many advantages.   The advantages are: - the lower viscosity reduces the entrapment of the solution in porous casting molds (blistering of the subsequent coating) - lower loss of chemicals (especially in unfavorable molds) - faster deposition - higher safety of deposition on aluminum alloys containing magnesium and silicon.   Aluminiumpreparer: Now you can plate It! Operating Conditions and Deposit Data Temperature 18 – 25 °C Immersion time 30 seconds to 2 minutes (see notes) Thickness of zinc film 0.1 – 0.2 microns Agitation Occasional work movement. Appearance of deposit Grey continuous layer Special storage requirements Away from strong acids Shelf life 1 – 2 years Health and Safety classification Irritant Special considerations None Transport (UN number) 1824 Notes: The aluminium article should be dipped until a contiuous grey film appears. If left in the solution too long, the adhesion of the zinc film is reduced, leading toblistering and in extreme cases, lifting of the plating. To strip the zincated layer, dip in Cleaner  for 10 minutes. Please note that oncethe Cleaner has been used for stripping, it cannot be used for any other process.     Marking of the mixture: Aluminum activator (contains sodium hydroxide)     Signal word: Danger H-phrases: H290: May be corrosive to metals.
