Product information "Rust Remover Rost Ex – Rust Cleaner for Metal, Iron & Steel"

Rust Remover Rost Ex – Powerful Rust & Corrosion Removal for Metal

Effective Rust Removal for Iron, Steel, Copper & Bronze

Rost Ex Rust Remover from Betzmann Galvanik is a powerful solution for the effective removal of rust, corrosion and oxidation residues from metal surfaces.

The specially formulated product combines chemical rust removal with mechanically supporting polishing particles. Corrosion inhibitors help to reduce unnecessary attack on less-corroded areas while the product works on the rust and corrosion deposits.

Rost Ex is particularly suitable for preparing metal surfaces for further processing, restoration or electroplating.

Rost Ex – For the Treatment of Corroded Metal

Rust can negatively affect not only the appearance of a metal component but also subsequent processing and the adhesion of electroplated coatings.

Rost Ex helps remove corrosion and rust from affected metal surfaces and prepares them for further treatment.

The polishing particles support the mechanical removal of rust and deposits, while the chemical formulation helps dissolve corrosion products.

Suitable Materials

Rost Ex is particularly suitable for:

  • Iron
  • Steel
  • Copper
  • Bronze
  • Other suitable metal surfaces

For unknown, sensitive or highly polished materials, always perform a test on an inconspicuous area first.

Application

  1. Remove loose dirt and loose rust particles.
  2. Apply the Rust Remover to the surface to be treated.
  3. Allow the product to work according to the degree of corrosion.
  4. Mechanically work the surface if required.
  5. Rinse the treated surface thoroughly with water.
  6. Dry the metal completely.
  7. If electroplating follows, continue with the appropriate cleaning and activation process.

For heavily corroded surfaces, the treatment can be repeated if necessary.

Ideal Before Electroplating

A thoroughly cleaned and rust-free surface is an important prerequisite for good adhesion of subsequent electroplated coatings.

A typical preparation sequence is:

Rust Removal → Cleaning → Degreasing → Activation → Electroplating

This is particularly important when working with iron and steel. After rust removal, further processing should be carried out without unnecessary delay because freshly cleaned metal surfaces can oxidize again.

Chemical Composition

The formulation contains, among other components:

  • Aqua
  • Alumina
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • Fatty alcohol polyglycol ether
  • Fatty acids
  • 2-Propyn-1-ol, compound with methyloxirane
  • Xanthan gum
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine
  • Prop-2-yn-1-ol

The combination of these ingredients provides both chemical and mechanically supporting action during rust removal.

Professional Rust Removal for Workshops & Metal Restoration

Rost Ex is particularly useful for:

  • Rusty steel components
  • Iron parts
  • Metal restoration
  • Classic car restoration
  • Motorcycle parts
  • Machine components
  • Metal workshop applications
  • Preparation for electroplating
  • Restoration and repair work
  • Removal of surface corrosion

The product is especially useful when a corroded surface needs to be restored before further surface treatment or electroplating.

Important Application Tip

After rust removal, always rinse the workpiece thoroughly and dry it completely.

If the metal is to be electroplated, the freshly cleaned surface should be properly activated and processed promptly to prevent renewed oxidation.

For demanding applications, always adapt the pretreatment to the specific base material and subsequent coating system.

MetaSeal - Metal Care

The metal care product is used for cleaning and polishing surfaces.    With the metal care almost all types of surfaces (except textiles) can be cleaned, treated and sealed with little effort and completely without water! Metal Care from Betzmann Galvanik does not contain acids or alkalis. It is ph-neutral and slowly biodegradable. It is even machine applicable by means of an eccentric polishing machine.      Some examples of use:  Car, boat, motorcycle, bicycle, kitchen, bathroom, ceramics, glass, leather, imitation leather, amarture board, plastic, camper, stainless steel, chrome, glass panes, TV, monitors, glasses, helmets, tiles, mirrors, shoe sole sides,  cell phone displays, store counters, high-gloss fronts, foiling (matt/glossy), advertising and company signs, solar systems, solariums, whirlpools, pools, rims, ovens, acrylic glass, ceramic hobs, CNC machines, chrome fixtures in the bathroom and much more.      Application:  Shake bottle briefly before use. Apply the metal care to the object to be treated and distribute/massage.  Then polish or wipe the lotion away with a clean microfiber cloth.  It can be applied by hand or by machine. For machine application, the care product can be used like a normal polish. For this purpose, apply the agent to the machine polishing attachment and process with gentle pressure. Then polish or wipe off the lotion with a clean microfiber cloth. or wipe clean. Due to its additional cleaning function, the metal care replaces a large number of polishes for automotive reconditioners. Smooth surfaces appear  after the application in their original shine and are sealed (Lotus effect). Dull lacquers are beautifully matt again after application and dirt and grease residues are grease residues are removed. Glass panes become streak-free clean after application and less susceptible to soiling (sealed).  With each new or further application, the protective film/sealing is further built up and the pores in the surface are closed. The product does not contain chalk or wax ingredients like common polishes. Thus also plastics can be polished effortlessly and appear again in the old shine (no white stripes or residues on plastic). The sealing usually lasts between 2-8 weeks (depending on the area of application and stress on the polished object). object).    Notice:  The product should not necessarily be used in the blazing sun, otherwise it may happen that you have to work harder to polish up the product One should also not use the metal care on smooth floors, as this surface then becomes even smoother and possible slipping danger exists.
