Product information "White Palladium with 5 Gramm per Liter "

White palladium with 5 grams per liter - even brighter even more radiant as a nickel replacement - barrier layer or as a hard decorative top coat!

White Palladium Electrolyte - The allergen-free alternative to nickel!

White palladium electroplating or coating with palladium is a rather rarely used galvanic coating. However, white palladium plating can offer some advantages, especially as a substitute for electroplating nickel with a nickel electrolyte.

The advantages of white palladium electrolyte compared to electroless nickel plating:

Typically, a nickel electrolyte is used to apply a barrier layer of nickel between copper and gold, preventing the two metals from mixing. However, a palladium plating offers several distinct advantages over the nickel electrolyte:

White palladium is more noble than nickel, meaning no surface corrosion occurs, and the palladium does NOT require extra activation prior to gold plating as nickel does.

The deposition rate and efficiency are excellent, which means there is no unwanted gas evolution.

The electrolyte deposits bright silvery white, very light palladium which can be used as a bright "finish". Gold plating with the Betzmann gold electrolyte for pin electroplating achieves an optimum result on palladium.

White palladium, in contrast to nickel electrolyte, is not carcinogenic and is therefore also permitted for private users!

A very good combination for gold plating of almost all metals is:

Alkaline or acid copper depending on the metal, palladium and finally gold.

All necessary electrolytes are available in our store.

White palladium can be plated on the following metals:

Copper, nickel, brass, silver, gold, on all dechromed surfaces.

Recommended voltages:  Pin electroplating: from 3 volts - Bath electroplating: 3 - 4 volts.

Recommended is graphite electrode or platinum electrode from our store.

Palladium content: 5 grams per liter

Main benefits;

  • Makes a great alternative to rhodium plating giving an authentic 18 carat white gold or platinum plated look.
  • palladium plating solution (unlike rhodium) doesn’t etch materials made of calcium carbonate such as pearl and coral, so you won’t have to worry about masking out these materials before submerging them in your palladium plating bath.
  • can be used as a substitute for nickel as a barrier layer for gold plating on copper and its alloys.
  • can be used as an alternative to silver as it doesn’t tarnish and is hard-wearing.
  • Very low porosity – excellent for corrosion protection.
  • Readily wettable by solder and dissolves a lot more slowly than gold in the solder making it an excellent top coat over gold for electrical contacts.

White Gold Mixer
White Gold Mixer: This solution, which is added to K-Gold, allows you to plate hardened white gold.It is completely free of nickel and can be used in all applications where the item is likely to come into contact with skin.White gold, despite its name, is grey in colour. For this reason it is usual to top coat with palladium, rhodium or platinum.White Gold Mixer, in smaller volumes, has a bleaching effect on gold. It can also be used to lighten rose gold forming a light pink colour. It should be plated at 4 volts using a ratio of 2 parts mixer to 10 parts K-Gold. We highly recommend the plating is carried out at room temperature.     Features Used for Completely nickel free All applications where item may come in contact with skin Can be used to lighten K-Gold and other gold mixers For example, creating a ‘white gold’ shade when mixed with K-Gold or creating a ‘blush pink’ shade when added to our Rose Gold Mixer

Carbon Electrode 6mm
Graphite round rod - Graphite rod anode - Graphite electrode for gold plating.  Graphite electrodes are ultimate for all coatings. The advantage is that in some coatings with stainless steel electrodes, the dislodged metal parts disturb the coating. This does not happen with graphite electrodes, because graphite also filters out contaminated liquids. With bath electroplating, they also need to be replaced occasionally as they slowly dissolve during the plating process.   With pad electroplating, simply loosen the screw on the handle and replace with a new one.   Diameter 6 mm, length approx. 9 cm    Features Used for Doesn’t contaminate Cleaner Activating and electro-cleaning  Its resistive properties help to heat the solution you’re plating with Chromium plating, which needs to be plated at 25 degrees celsius; its natural heating action helps to maintain the solution’s optimal temperature Low cost Can be used for all plating processes but carbon electrodes deteriorate over a period of time and discolour swabs (discolouration does not affect the plating quality)

Silver Solution 30 Gramm/Liter
Product information “Silver electrolyte” silver plating - cyanide free! Article description:Betzmann electroplating silver electrolyte - the product properties at a glance: 330 grams of silver per liter - Highly concentrated for fast silver plating Cyanide-free and safe to use - ideal for jewelry manufacturers and also for hobby usersSuitable for bath and pin electroplatingBuilds up thick silver layers very quickly Creates shiny silver layers that can be polished to a high shinePlease note that you need both a power supply unit and a bath or pin electroplating system to create abrasion-resistant silver layers on objects.Silver briefly deposits grey and is then gently polished to a shine with a damp microfiber cloth, then the bright white silver appears. A yellow clouding of the fabric pad during silver plating is normal and decomposes again after a short time. The silver electrolyte is ideal for bath and pin electroplating. With the cyanide-free silver electrolyte from Betzmann Galvanik, you can easily electroplate silver yourself! In contrast to the highly toxic silver electrolytes commonly used in industry, the cyanide-free silver electrolyte is safe to handle. The electrolyte deposits robust and attractive layers of fine silver. The silver is deposited brightly and generally no longer needs to be polished. The electrolyte is ideal for silver-plating jewelry, restorative silver-plating of silver cutlery and galvanic silver-plating of many other objects. Due to the high silver content of 30 grams per liter, the electrolyte deposits silver very quickly - this is particularly advantageous in pin electroplating, as it reduces the working time. Base metals such as zinc or iron should be nickel-plated, copper-plated or silver-plated before silver-plating. Please note that the silver electrode is the optimum electrode for silver plating! We have corresponding electrodes in our range. Anode sleeve fuzzy
Anode pad / tampon / anode sleeve / fuzzy sleeve / replacement fabric pad puffy from Betzmann Galvanik.    This puffy fabric pad / anode sleeve or also called tampon is absolutely recommended for all plating processes. Optimally suitable for all coatings and electrolytes.  The coating of larger areas is also quite fast with this pad.   The insertion hole is larger than the electrode and therefore it happens that the moist  anode pad slips off. Therefore, fix the pad on the electrode with a small rubber band.
