Elektroden - Anoden
Choosing the right electrode
Our large selection of suitable electrodes makes coating easier for you. You will get optimal results and few disturbing factors if you use the recommended electrodes.
We carry stick electrodes for pad electroplating and bath electroplating and also plate electrodes for bath electroplating.
The graphite electrode is a very helpful support for a wide variety of coatings. It does color the pad and the liquid somewhat, but this is not a problem at all for the electrolyte and the plating.
The platinum electrode coats at the highest level like the graphite rod, but scatters the metal much deeper into the layer and builds up very thick layers.
The big advantage with the nickel silver and copper electrode is that you can work with less material and less time when plating.
Carbon Electrode 6mm
Graphite round rod - Graphite rod anode - Graphite electrode for gold plating. Graphite electrodes are ultimate for all coatings. The advantage is that in some coatings with stainless steel electrodes, the dislodged metal parts disturb the coating. This does not happen with graphite electrodes, because graphite also filters out contaminated liquids. With bath electroplating, they also need to be replaced occasionally as they slowly dissolve during the plating process. With pad electroplating, simply loosen the screw on the handle and replace with a new one. Diameter 6 mm, length approx. 9 cm Features Used for Doesn’t contaminate Cleaner Activating and electro-cleaning Its resistive properties help to heat the solution you’re plating with Chromium plating, which needs to be plated at 25 degrees celsius; its natural heating action helps to maintain the solution’s optimal temperature Low cost Can be used for all plating processes but carbon electrodes deteriorate over a period of time and discolour swabs (discolouration does not affect the plating quality)
Stainless Steel Electrode 6mm
Stainless steel electrode 6 mm This electrode is ideal for most work steps. It can mainly be used for degreasing, activating, and dechroming, and is also very good for chromium plating.Important! Stainless steel electrodes can cause contamination of the coating solution in other coating processes. In this case, it is recommended to use a more suitable anode, e.g., made of graphite or platinum. Stainless steel electrodes and, ideally, aluminum electrodes are suitable for chromium plating. Graphite or platinum electrodes are suitable for gold plating. Graphite or silver electrodes are suitable for silver plating. Length: 9.5 cm, diameter 6 mm
Electrode Handle
Electrode Handle: The electrode handle is is used to hold the various electrodes up to 6mm required throughout the plating process. The Electrode Handle will hold all of our rod-shaped electrodes including the stainless steel electrode, which should be used for chrome stripping and cleaning only, the carbon electrode which can be used for plating all metals and the platinum electrode which can also be used for plating all metals.
Copper Electrode 6mm
Product information “Copper electrode 6 mm” Copper rod anode - Copper electrode 6 mm for DIY copper plating from Betzmann Galvanik This electrode was developed for use with our copper solutions. The copper ions exchange more quickly, allowing you to achieve faster and better plating results. Pure copper 99.9% Copper electrode: Use this copper electrode for coating with alkaline or acidic copper electrolyte. Features & benefits Made of pure copper, the copper electrolyte replaces the deposited copper and keeps the metal content in the bath constant. This saves you between 40% and 50% of the cost of the solution. You also save time because you don't have to re-dip the fabric pad after dipping it in the coating solution—instead, the copper is applied from the electrode. If you want to be on the safe side, we recommend mixing our thickener with the copper coating solution to ensure that the swab does not dry out and electrical contact is maintained.
Nickel Electrode 6mm
Features "Nickel Electrode 6 mm from Betzmann Galvanik unalloyed rod anode made of pure nickel Ø 6 mm x 100 mm longer lengths on request as sacrificial anode for nickel plating by means of pin / tampon electroplating, reduced nickel electrolyte consumption, nickel layers are mainly used as diffusion barrier for gold plating of copper or as intermediate layer for tin plating Material sample with defined purity grade Ni 99.6 for comparative investigation of material properties Standard electrode for experiments in electrochemistry (electroplating, electrolysis, ion migration, determination of electrochemical potentials, conductivity titration, conductometric titration etc.) Material: nickel Degree of purity: 99.6 Diameter: 6 mm Length: 100 mm
Platinum Electrode
Platinum electrode from Betzmann-Galvanik: We know that when plating with gold or silver, you want to achieve only the best results and this is achieved by using our platinum electrode (platinized titanium). This will more than meet your requirements. It hardly wears out and leaves no black spots or stains when plating. For top quality gold plating, we recommend the use of this electrode. Care should be taken to clean the electrode carefully after each use! Properties "Platinum Electrode 6 mm Platinum electrode (platinized titanium with a platinum layer of 2.5 µm platinum) Ø 6 mm x 100 mm Standard electrode for experiments in electrochemistry (electroplating, electrolysis, ion migration, determination of electrochemical potentials, etc.) Spare platinum electrode for Hofmann decomposition apparatus, electrolyzer Platinum-coated titanium anodes are among the classic anode materials for electroplating because they combine the excellent electrochemical properties of platinum with the good corrosion properties of titanium. They are characterized by a long service life at high current density and are versatile in use. They are equally suitable for platinum and ruthenium baths, for hard chrome plating, as bright rhodium baths and for cathodic corrosion protection. The standard platinum layer thickness is 2.5 μm. In order to achieve the best results when plating with gold (adhesive gold bath, bright gold plating bath) or silver, they are indispensable. This platinum electrode will more than meet your requirements, it hardly wears out and leaves no black spots or stains when plating. For top quality gold plating, I recommend using this electrode. Other possible applications: Water electrolysis/separation of hydrogen and oxygen, water disinfection, production of chlorates (chlorate synthesis) and perchlorates. Recommended operating data: Operating voltage from 3 volts distance anode/workpiece surface 5 cm anodic current intensity (specific current density) max. 75 A/dm² (7.5 mA/mm² = 750 mA/cm²), i.e. a multiple of the values typical in electroplating (0.5 ... 5 A/dm²) pH value: 0 - 11 Bath temperature max. 60 °C
