Copper Alligator Clip – Professional Negative Contact Clamp for Tank, Pen & Brush Plating

Product information "Copper Alligator Clip – Professional Negative Contact Clamp for Tank, Pen & Brush Plating"

Copper Alligator Clip – Soft Negative Contact Clamp for Professional Electroplating

Premium Copper Alligator Clip for Secure and Gentle Electrical Contact During Electroplating

The Copper Alligator Clip BMG-019A has been specifically developed for professional use in tank plating, pen plating, and brush plating applications. Designed exclusively as a negative contact clamp (cathode connection), it provides a secure electrical connection to the workpiece while minimizing the risk of surface damage.

Manufactured from high-purity copper, the clip offers outstanding electrical conductivity with very low contact resistance, ensuring stable current transfer and consistent electroplating results. The soft copper jaws help protect delicate surfaces by significantly reducing the risk of scratches or pressure marks during clamping.

Unlike zinc-plated steel clamps, the Copper Alligator Clip is rust-proof, zinc-free, and corrosion-resistant, eliminating the risk of zinc contamination of the electrolyte or workpiece. This makes it particularly suitable for high-quality precious metal plating processes such as gold plating, silver plating, rhodium plating, palladium plating, platinum plating, and ruthenium plating.

Its robust copper construction also provides an exceptionally long service life and can last up to 200 times longer than conventional coated alligator clips under normal electroplating conditions.

Copper Conductive Paint – Conductive Metallizing Coating for Electroplating, 3D Prints & Plastics

Copper Conductive Lacquer for Plastic Metallization – Airbrush & ElectroplatingCopper conductive lacquer for metallizing non-conductive surfaces – ideal for preparing plastics, 3D-printed parts, PETG and other non-conductive materials for subsequent electroplating. This copper conductive lacquer allows non-conductive surfaces to be coated with a copper-containing layer, making them suitable for subsequent electroplating. It is particularly suitable for plastic parts, 3D-printed components, PETG and other non-conductive materials. The lacquer can be applied using a brush, sponge or airbrush.Copper Conductive Lacquer for Airbrush ApplicationFor an especially smooth and even coating, the copper conductive lacquer can be applied using an airbrush with a 0.5–0.8 mm nozzle. For thinning, we recommend butyl acetate or a suitable solvent-based lacquer thinner. As a starting point, the following mixture is recommended:100 ml copper conductive lacquer + approx. 10 ml butyl acetateDepending on the airbrush, nozzle size and desired spray pattern, the amount of thinner can gradually be increased to approximately 15%.Before application, thoroughly stir or homogenize the lacquer, as the copper components may settle during storage. For the best results, apply several thin, even coats rather than one thick coat.Metallizing Plastic for ElectroplatingCopper conductive lacquer is specifically designed for preparing non-conductive surfaces for electroplating. After application and complete drying, the coated surface is galvanically copper-plated using an acid copper electrolyte. This creates a continuous metallic copper layer that can subsequently be used as the basis for further electroplating.Typical process:Plastic / 3D-printed part → Copper conductive lacquer → Acid copper electroplating → Further electroplatingThis allows plastic components to be prepared for subsequent gold plating, silver plating, nickel plating and other electroplating processes.Suitable ApplicationsCopper conductive lacquer is ideal for:Electroplating plasticMetallizing 3D-printed partsPETG and other non-conductive plasticsModel making and prototypingTechnical componentsDecorative plastic partsCustom-made and individual componentsPreparing plastic parts for electroplatingCreating a conductive surface as a preparation for galvanic coatingImportant: Conductive Preparation for ElectroplatingThe copper conductive lacquer is primarily intended for metallizing non-conductive surfaces as a preparation for electroplating. The applied lacquer layer is subsequently treated in an acid copper electrolyte to prepare the surface for galvanic copper deposition. The copper electrolyte is therefore not simply used as a thinner or cleaning solution, but forms part of the electroplating process.ApplicationThoroughly clean and degrease the surface.Stir the copper conductive lacquer thoroughly before use.For airbrush application, start with approximately 10% butyl acetate.Apply several thin and even coats.Allow the coating to dry completely.Prepare the surface for galvanic copper plating.Electroplate the surface using an acid copper electrolyte.Once a sufficient copper layer has been deposited, additional electroplating can be carried out.Your BenefitsCopper conductive lacquer allows even complex-shaped plastic and 3D-printed components to be prepared for electroplating. Airbrush application provides particularly uniform coverage and is ideal for larger surfaces, intricate geometries and detailed components.Ideal for anyone looking to electroplate plastic, metallize 3D-printed parts or prepare custom plastic components for professional electroplating.
